Utility Locating

Identify existing utility infrastructure hidden beneath the ground.

Preliminary identification of sub-surface utilities and features, including service routes such as high/low pressure gas, telecommunications, electricity and water mains, is critical to successful infrastructure design and delivery. We utilise the best available technology to locate underground services - including Electromagnetic Detection (EM) for conductive routes and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for non-conductive services, assets or voids/cavities.

Our utility investigations are pursuant to Australian Standard 5488-2019 SUI, with our team capable of locating and reporting all underground services at the highest required Quality Level. This can involve BYDA desktop studies, lifting of all pits and manholes, EM and GPR tracing, and recording of all relevant information inclusive of conduit type, size, material and configuration.

Astrea offers a complete CCTV pipeline inspection service, with a selection of the latest tractor camera systems and rod cameras. This process enables an explicit analysis of pipeline conditions, layout and specifications. We collect detailed, standards-compliant inspection data using WINCAN software and provide a comprehensive report in digital format.

Our concrete scanning services utilises high frequency penetrating radar to detect structural features within concrete. This process identifies any embedded reinforcement or anomalies, in addition to slab thickness and density. We provide highly accurate detection data, ensuring safe and informed decision-making for cutting, coring, and structural assessments.
