Services
Leading the way in safe delivery
We work closely with our clients to fully understand and respond to their individual needs. Whether you need a map of underground utilities,
an above ground survey using the most current 3D scanning technology, a non-invasive way to excavate, or even simple CAD Data management systems –
we provide a unique approach to all these services in a cost effective manner that minimises danger and maximises results.
We have received accreditation by an independent third party for the following standards:
ISO9001:2015 – Quality Management System
ISO14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems
AS/NZS4801:2001 – OH&S Management Systems

Digital and Spatial
Laser scanning technology is invaluable when it comes to planning and executing your construction projects. By creating a detailed 3D model, it is possible to analyse conditions to inform design, as well as plan engineering works accurately. The technique and model can be used to monitor progress enabling rapid assessment of build versus design and also ensure that an accurate as built model is available.
Our collaborative approach and 3D laser scanning expertise has allowed us to develop a process which delivers fast and accurate survey information in a BIM-ready model.
Areas of Expertise
- 3D Laser Scanning
- 3D Modelling & BIM
- Data Management
- UAV Aerial Mapping
Benefits
- High accuracy and precise calculations
- Reduced field work and improved safety
- Non-intrusive comprehensive data capture
- Data preservation and documentation
Subsurface Utilities
Astrea can identify and map Underground Utilities and Service Routes including:
- Gas
- Water
- Telecommunications
- Electricity
- Drainage
With the use of specialised equipment and tools to detect and map underground utilities, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electromagnetic (EM) Locators, we will provide an accurate record of existing as-built utilities and services.
Areas of Expertise
- Utility Locating & Mapping
- Drainage Inspection
- Concrete Scanning
- Confined Space Access
Benefits
- Minimise site disruption and potential delays
- Improve compliance and reduce Health & Safety risks
- Avoid the tisk of costly asset failures and emergency repairs
- Mitigate the risk of utility strikes
Surveying
We combine topographical and Laser scanning technology to provide a complete solution to your site requirements. These surveys are used for design, cost management and asset management. All data is processed and delivered in our format to provide a topographical overview.
Working closely alongside our utility survey team, our topographical surveyors accurately record the position of the identified below ground infrastructure. This allows easy integration with topographical survey data and other geomatics information to create a more detailed overall mapping.
Areas of Expertise
- Cadastral Surveys
- Land & Building Subdivisions
- Title Boundary Re-establishment
- Construction Set-out
Benefits
- Accurate site information
- Informed cost estimation
- 3D visualisation
- Safety & risk mitigation
Non-Destructive Excavation
Our vacuum excavation is a non-destructive process that combines high pressurised water and a vacuum loaded holding tank to break up and cut the soil at a controlled rate.
This process allows for quick, clean and precise excavations that require less backfill, labour, restoration, and most importantly minimal environmental impact than conventional digging methods.
Areas of Expertise
- Vacuum Excavation
- Potholing & Trenching
- Jet Vac & Dry Vac
- Disposal of Waste
Benefits
- Clean-cut, minimal post-excavation restoration activities
- Less material removed i.e. less disposal, backfill and restoration
- Environmentally friendly
- Cost effective
Dilapidation Surveys
A dilapidation survey, is a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the physical condition of a building or structure, as well as its immediate surroundings prior to construction including:
- Detailed descriptions, photographs, and diagrams highlighting any defects, damage, or structural issues.
- An evaluation of the condition of various building components
- Structural Assessment
- Recommendations of necessary repairs, maintenance, or remediation measures.
Areas of Expertise
- Roads
- CCTV Inspections
- Buildings
- Sewer & Stormwater
Benefits
- Mitigate blame for indirect damage to third-party properties
- Legal protection
- Maintenance Planning
- Insurance Requirements
