Founded in 2019 by Managing Director Laurence Mead, Astrea was built on a clear vision: to provide a specialised, multi-disciplinary services platform tailored to the growing and complex needs of Australia’s AEC industry.

With a strong foundation in the utilities sector, Laurence brought to the business a wealth of senior leadership experience from both public and private infrastructure companies. His strategic leadership and client-focused approach have shaped Astrea into a business known for its technical excellence, responsive service, and collaborative delivery.

Under Laurence’s guidance, Astrea has expanded rapidly - not only in scale, but in the depth and diversity of services it provides. Today, the company operates across New South Wales with a 57-strong team, offering a suite of services including electromagnetic locating, GPR, 3D scanning, BIM, UAV mapping, vacuum excavation, and complex civil works. With a growing fleet of advanced equipment and a multidisciplinary workforce, Astrea has delivered well over 4000 projects and continues to play a key role in reducing risk, saving time, and improving outcomes across a wide range of infrastructure projects.

Astrea’s growth story is not only measured by its service offering and project delivery, but also by its culture. At the heart of the company lies a commitment to people - clients, partners, and team members alike

Astrea was built with the goal of solving real problems for our clients by bringing specialist capabilities under one roof. Five years on, I’m incredibly proud of what our team has achieved - not just in the projects we’ve delivered, but in the culture we’ve created. I look forward to the next chapter as we continue to evolve and add value across the entire project lifecycle.
